GENEL NİTELİKLER VE İŞ TANIMI

Istanbul Okan University welcomes applications from motivated, energetic and experienced English teachers who utilize a hybrid approach to their lessons. Istanbul Okan University has over 10 years of hybrid model lessons in Turkey with its environmentally-friendly and technological campus which offer students a happy, social and safe atmosphere.

  • Bachelors Degree in ELT or Translations w/ Formation
  • 3 years experience
  • CPD certificates
  • Computer Literate
  •  LMS Literate
  • able to work remotely


Required components of successful instructors to carry out their duties in the Foreign Language Department:


  •  Communication Skills: They must be able to speak clearly to students, other teachers, parents (when necessary) and administration officials.
  • Instruction Skills: They will have to explain new ideas and unfamiliar concepts to students with authority and in a clear and concise way so that students can understand. You must work to keep the students' attention.
  • Writing Skills: Teachers write progress reports, notes on any Learning Management System, emails and detailed lesson plans. Writing skills are critical.
  • Patience: The students you work with will have different backgrounds and abilities. Patience, cultural sensitivity and tolerance will help teachers deal with students who act out or have trouble following the material.
  • Creativity: Teachers have to find ways to involve students into their lessons. Additionally, teachers may have to work with different learning styles to get the most out of each student within one class.
  • People Skills: Engaging parents and creating healthy relationships with students and faculty will help create a quality learning environment.


  • Plan and prepare weekly planners
  • Deliver different lessons to various classes
  • Prepare, review and grade writing portfolio documents
  • Catalogue and provide appropriate feedback on oral and written work for each student
  • Devise, write and produce new materials, including audio and visual resources
  • Organize and get involved in clubs (speaking, movie, reading etc…)
  • Attend and contribute to training sessions
  • Participate in marketing events for the language school
  • Invigilate, grade/assess any exam assigned by the administration staff
  • Attending and participating in meetings
  • Prepare information for inspection visits and other quality assurance exercises
  • Undertake administrative tasks, such as keeping student registers and attendance records
  • Assist any other language that falls under the FLD such as exam invigilation.


In addition to:

• Blackboard, OİS, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel experience
• excellent planning and organization skills
• a friendly and confident manner - team work is essential
• the ability to work well under pressure
• a flexible approach to work
• following all rules and regulations set forth by Istanbul Okan University
