About Palmet:

Palmet Enerji A.Ş. (Palmet) is a leader in several energy services and energy infrastructure businesses in Turkey and has annual revenues approaching $1 billion. Palmet currently owns three natural gas distribution utilities with more than 900 thousand customers, three natural gas-fired power generation plants with a total of 950MW of production capacity and an engineering/construction company for energy and IT infrastructure projects. Palmet’s international ventures include Palmet Manitoba Hydro International A.Ş. and Palmet International LLC.

About the Position:

This is an in-house attorney position supporting all subsidiaries including its city gas distribution utilities. The in-house attorney would be responsible for providing legal support for all business segments’ commercial transactions, financial transactions, and day-to-day contracting work. These responsibilities would include drafting and negotiating such contracts as gas purchase agreements, joint venture agreements, contracting and service agreements, real property lease and right-of-way agreements, pipeline and electricity grid connection agreements, confidentiality agreements, lien agreements, credit agreements and other contracts. The responsibilities also include supervising and reporting of all work outsourced to external counsel including M&A and Project Finance. Depending on experience, the in-house attorney may be the first point of contact for all legal matters, which would include Regulatory/Environmental Compliance, Human Resources and Corporate Litigation.

Qualifications:

The candidate is expected to have;

Minimum of 7 years of relevant national and international experience
Working knowledge of Administrative Law, Turkish Commercial Code, Corporate Law, debt enforcement law and other aspects of private law.
Legal literacy in Turkish and English. Ability to draft contracts in both languages.
Good networking ability and social skills including the ability to handle internal contacts, external counsel and counter parties.
Previous experience in Energy market regulation will be a plus.
Analytical thinker, pursuant, team player with good reporting skills.
