QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION


As we continue to expand the pre-opening team, The Peninsula Istanbul is seeking to hire a Credit Manager.

Key accountabilities

 
  • Assists the Finance Leadership in successfully opening the Peninsula Istanbul by implementing finance related systems, establishing efficient paperless processes and creating an effective Finance team.
  • Assists the Finance Leadership in ensuring compliance with HSH Finance related policies and procedures and participates to any task necessary to achieve the highest levels of compliance and efficiency.
  • Manages all aspects of the Peninsula Istanbul Accounts Receivable management, including the collection, the maintenance and the record keeping of the City Ledgers for the Hotel.
  • Organizes and prepares monthly Credit meetings to ensure best practices within the property in terms of Credit control and debt collection. Liaises with all concerned departments prior and after the Credit meeting to ensure the best possible outcome. 
  • Ensures the processing and review of all charges for all Accounts, generating electronic statements in accordance to Accounts Receivable Policy and Procedure. Is also responsible for the organisation of Master Accounts regarding methods of payment (Cash, Direct Billing or Credit Card), ensuring collection of cash or credit card pre-authorization prior to Events, and/or direct billing.
  • Supports the month-end process, including monthly financial statements preparation, and balance sheet reconciliation.

 


General requirements

 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience in hospitality-residential environment and supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Turkish & English.
  • Understanding of the various accounting functions. 
  • Extensive experience in accounts receivable.  
  • Ability to manage a complex tax and contractual environment. 
  • High level of integrity is required. Outgoing, flexible, detail oriented, strong organizational and negotiation skills.

About The Peninsula Istanbul

The Peninsula Istanbul will offer spectacular views of the Bosphorus Strait, the meeting point of East and West. Located in the historic Karaköy district, the hotel will feature 177 opulent guestrooms and a glamourous rooftop, forming part of the Salıpazarı Port re-development, which also features a cruise terminal, public squares, restaurants and museums. The hotel is currently scheduled to open at early 2023.
