QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

The Peninsula Istanbul will offer spectacular views of the Bosphorus Strait, the meeting point of East and West. Located in the historic Karaköy district, the hotel will feature 177 opulent guestrooms and a glamourous rooftop, forming part of the Salıpazarı Port re-development, which also features a cruise terminal, public squares, restaurants, and museums. A great opportunity to work in an exciting Signature Restaurant, The Peninsula Istanbul is looking for BBQ Chef to ensure the highest standards of customer service together with Peninsula Service Principles.

 Key accountabilities 
  • To work closely with the team and Head Chef on day-to-day operation. Ensuring production in the restaurant at high standards, Managing the entire daily operations perfectly 
  • To practice innovation and creativity by constantly introducing new creations and presentations of the roast duck, lamb, beef and other variations of meat.
  • To be responsible for the total quality of food prepared.
  • To match volume of food prepared in accordance with business thereby prevents food wastage and keeps food cost within budget.
  • To ensure that all kitchen equipment is kept in good working conditions and that they are serviced in accordance with suppliers’ recommendations thereby protecting their long-term investment value.
  • To ensure that the kitchens are in a neat and clean condition thereby posing no safety threat to kitchen staff.
  General requirements 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the same position and total 4 to 5 years of experience in a la carte restaurant kitchens, luxury hotel at high standards, Michelin or 50 Best restaurants plus.
  • Fluent and excellent command of speaking and writing communication skills in English.
  • Closely following up the world and new gastronomy trends.
  • Excellent command of the Asian and European Culinary skills traditional and modern.
  • Excellent knowledge of systems, ordering and inventory.
