QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

The Peninsula Istanbul is located in the historic Karaköy area overlooking the Bosphorus – the meeting point of Asia and Europe. The hotel will feature 177 luxurious guest rooms and suites, a grand ballroom with sweeping views of the Bosphorus, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, spa and a verdant garden on the waterfront. As we continue to expand the pre-opening team, The Peninsula Istanbul is seeking to hire a Pastry Chef.

 Key accountabilities
 
  • Ensuring production in the hotel at high standards.
  • Maintains and set adherence standards for product quality, consistency, presentation, portioning, garnishment, and utilization goals.
  • Coordinates and directs all aspects of the hotel pastry & bakery operation and collaborates with the Food and Beverage team and all necessary stakeholders to achieve marketing and business goals and objectives.
  • Maintains up to date technical worksheets, recipes and costings and ensures understanding and compliance from team members.
  • Controls the ordering and requisitions to achieve budgeted costs.
  • Ensures the hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchens and food storage areas and ensures the highest standard of food safety.
 
General requirements
 
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the same position and total 8 to 10 years of experience in a la carte restaurant kitchens, luxury hotel at high standards, Michelin or 50 Best restaurants plus.
  • Extensive pastry technical knowledge and current culinary trends.
  • High level of creativity.
  • Extensive experience in management of chefs.
  • Ability to maintain an extremely sanitary environment while working.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the team.
  • Fluent in English language proficiency.
